Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at Admin@SimpleCeremoniesOC.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Simple Ceremonies of Orange County specializes in non-denominational, interfaith, and secular ceremonies for weddings and vow renewals. Our goal is to give you the perfect ceremony regardless of faith, background, or orientation.

Our ceremony packages include a personalized ceremony script, a rehearsal (if necessary), and the officiating of your ceremony on the day of your event. You will also receive a commemorative marriage certificate signed by your officiant and witnesses post ceremony.

Absolutely! Offering customized services is not only our greatest joy, it is the backbone of our company. Simple Ceremonies of Orange County encourages couples to customize their ceremony to reflect their unique love story. We work with each couple to create a ceremony that is tailored to their preferences. We have several scripts we can use as a template to assist with setting the tone of your ceremony. All can be modified to include any rituals or traditions that speak to you.

Absolutely. I proudly officiate weddings for all couples, regardless of gender or orientation. Love is love.

Yes! I offer full support with vow writing and ceremony customization. I can provide samples, help you write from scratch, or assist in editing what you've already written.

I tailor the ceremony to your beliefs—whether you're interfaith, spiritual but not religious, secular, or want to include specific traditions or rituals. We’ll create something meaningful that feels true to you.

Definitely! From unity candles to handfasting, sand ceremonies, cultural blessings, or custom rituals, I’m happy to incorporate any meaningful traditions you’d like to include.

The earlier the better, especially for popular dates. I recommend booking at least 3–6 months in advance, but I may have last-minute availability—don’t hesitate to ask!

My fee includes a customized ceremony, planning meetings, vow support, travel within a set radius, and officiating on your big day. I also offer optional add-ons like rehearsal attendance or ceremony writing only. Please reach out for a full pricing guide.

Yes, I’m an ordained officiant and legally recognized to perform weddings in [your state/region]. If you're marrying elsewhere, let’s verify the local requirements together.

Yes! I’m happy to officiate symbolic ceremonies, vow renewals, or commitment rituals that don’t involve legal paperwork—perfect for those already married, eloping abroad, or celebrating in a unique way.

Rehearsal attendance is available upon request and is highly recommended for larger or more formal weddings. It allows us to walk through the ceremony, coordinate with your planner or venue, and ensure everything flows smoothly on the big day.

Yes! I provide a full draft of your ceremony script for review. You’re welcome to request changes or additions so it feels just right. Your voices and vision are at the heart of everything I create.

I do! Virtual ceremonies are a beautiful option for long-distance couples, elopements, or symbolic celebrations. I’m happy to craft a meaningful experience via Zoom or other platforms, whether legal or purely ceremonial.

In the rare event of an emergency, I have a trusted network of professional officiants I can refer or arrange as a backup. Your ceremony is too important to leave to chance—I always have a plan in place.

A sound bath is a deeply relaxing experience where you’re “bathed” in sound vibrations from instruments like crystal singing bowls, chimes, and gongs. You don’t need to do anything--just lie down, get comfortable, and let the sound guide you into a meditative, restful state.

Sound baths can help calm the nervous system, reduce stress and anxiety, promote better sleep, support emotional release, and create a sense of clarity and inner peace. Many people feel lighter, calmer, and more balanced afterward.

Wear comfy clothes, like what you’d wear to lounge or do yoga. Yoga mats and bolsters will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. You may also bring a blanket, pillow, or anything else that will help you feel cozy. Some people even bring an eye mask for extra comfort.

Not at all. Sound baths are for everyone. Whether you’ve never meditated in your life or you have a regular mindfulness practice, the experience meets you where you are.

It’s totally okay if you do, and actually very common! The vibrations help your brain shift into deep relaxation, and sleep is a natural part of that for some people. For others the process of active listening grants better results.

It depends on your needs. Some people come weekly, others monthly, and some just whenever they feel called. There’s no wrong rhythm—just what works for you.

You’ll lie down on a mat or sit in a comfortable position while I play a variety of instruments. You can close your eyes, breathe deeply, and simply receive. Every session is a little different, but all are designed to help you relax and reset.

Sound can be very powerful. For first time visits, I will alternate between playing sound and guiding meditation to ensure you are not overwhelmed or over stimulated by the sound waves.

For most people, yes. If you have a sound sensitivity, epilepsy, are in the first trimester of pregnancy, or have a pacemaker, it’s best to check in with your healthcare provider before attending. Always let me know ahead of time if you have any health concerns—I’ll do my best to accommodate.

Yes! I offer private sessions for individuals, couples, and small groups. It’s a beautiful way to celebrate milestones, release stress, or just carve out some intentional time for yourself or your loved ones.
